OTMF: Baby Deadbeet

Here is the first of the October Toys Mini Figures. Baby Deadbeet is a Scott Tolleson design scultpted by George Gaspar. I envy Mr. Gaspar's talent.  I enjoy painting and drawing and sculpting, and I imagine myself to be an okay artist, but I have a ways to go until I can even hope to be near this good.  It blows my mind how an artist can sculpt such a small character with the amount of detail this little guy displays.  He comes loose and in flesh tone from http://www.octobertoys.com. I guess I'll just keep painting these little guys until I've acquired Mr. Gaspar's amazing skills.

For the Wolf

Hey all, I just finished this illustration for the alternative rock band For The Wolf from Oklahoma.  I'm normally not into harder sounding music, but I listened to these guys the whole time I was drawing this piece and have to admit that they have some pretty catchy material.  I'm probably way off here but the bands Evanescence and Pretty Girls Make Graves come to mind as possible influences.  They're not limited to just rock though.  Their sound ranges from poppy to dark and moody.  Definitely worth a look if you're into alternative rock or punk bands with girl singers. Check 'em out here: http://www.forthewolf.com

Also, they plan to release a new 7 inch later this year called Dark Dark Dark. Find out how to get involved and help finance this project on their Kickstarter page: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2066690617/for-the-wolf-dark-dark-dark-ep-on-7-vinyl

OMFG! Series 2 paint jobs

Received my Kickstarter package of the OMFG series 2 flesh colored and exclusive black sets in the mail a week or two ago.  What an awesome surprise and happy way to start off the new year.  I've already painted the black set and have posted a little video I made with my crappy camera.  By the time series 4 characters are chosen I hope to have two designs finished for submission. Until then, I'll just keep collecting and painting them.
